2024 New South Wales local elections

14 September 2024

Local elections in New South Wales will be held on 14 September across the state. The last elections were held in December 2021, having been delayed from September 2020 (and then further delayed from September 2021) due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Both Labor and the Liberals endorse candidates for NSW local elections, as do the Greens and a large number of other minor parties. The NSW Electoral Commission also has an official local party register, although that includes some non-local parties such as the Australian Democrats and Family First.

A number of LGAs are expected to have their first elections since 2016 or 2017. There is also the possibility of an election for Norfolk Island Regional Council.
