These results and projections have been compiled through various sources, including scrutineers, results published on the windows of VEC offices and other sources, including Council Watch Victoria and The Age.
The VEC does NOT publish progressive counts for local elections online. They've told 6 News:
"Our election management system and our website are not configured to provide real-time results publication for local councils (unlike for state elections). We appreciate that this creates a lack of information for the public and other interested stakeholders and we acknowledge that it is not meeting community expectations.
It is something that we are actively addressing as part of our future development work to ensure that we can provide the same level of results information for both state and local council elections. We appreciate your feedback and we are keen to address this in future."
Lord Mayor
Results provided to 6 News have indicated Nick Reece will be re-elected as Lord Mayor of Melbourne, finishing in a two-candidate-preferred race with Liberal candidate Mariam Riza.
Results provided to 6 News this morning show Reece winning with 62.11% of the vote, compared to Riza's 37.89%.
Anthony Koutoufides is eliminated with 20.23%, and it's his voter's preferences that propel Reece up by around 11%. Greens candidate Roxane Ingleton is then eliminated while on 25.21% of the vote, and the majority of those preferences go to Reece, sealing a victory.
The figures show 63,043 formal votes have been cast - at the 2020 election, there were 88,434 formal votes.
We've been able to confirm these figures match up with what multiple parties have currently got.

Councillors
In the councillor race, we're told Team Nick Reece has two seats, Innovate Melbourne has won, Team Elvis Martin (endorsed by former lord mayor Sally Capp) have none, and the final race is between second Liberal candidate You Li Liston and Labor councillor Davydd Griffiths. The Greens have also claimed victory for incumbent Olivia Ball.
Liberal candidate Owen Guest is projected by 6 News to have been elected, becoming the first Liberal-endorsed councillor ever elected to Melbourne City Council.
