2024 Victorian local elections
October 2024
Victoria's local elections will be conducted by post throughout October 2024. Dozens of councils will change their electoral system as a result of the Local Government Act 2020, with many moving from multi-member wards to single-member wards.
The Greens typically endorse the most candidates, although Labor is expected to endorse for multiple LGAs as well. The Victorian Socialists and Libertarian Party, who both have incumbent councillors, are also aiming to run strong campaigns.
There is the possibility of the Liberals endorsing candidates, as 6 News revealed last year, although that is no certainty.
Casey and Whittlesea will have their first elections since 2016.
